Dohn Construction Completes Uncommon Apartment Building in Old Town Fort Collins
Local construction firm completes luxury, mixed-use building in Fort CollinsFort Collins, CO: Dohn Construction has completed the construction of the highly anticipated Uncommon building in Old Town Fort Collins, CO. Uncommon is a 180,000 square foot, mixed-use building comprised of five floors of luxury apartments, one floor of retail and restaurant space, and underground parking. Uncommon’s occupants began moving in to their new apartments yesterday.Like its name, the Uncommon building is anything but ordinary. Uncommon’s tenants now enjoy a number of luxury amenities including two courtyards, a fitness center, a rock climbing wall, and an entertainment room. The building also boasts a “Ski Experience Room” which includes a ski and snowboard simulator, boot drying rack, and lockers for snow sports gear.Apartments range from studios to three-bedroom apartments. In keeping with the City of Fort Collins’ code requirements, sustainability expectations, and Bike-Friendly Community goals, the building’s first floor includes a bike room with 205 bike racks and two bike work stations for its tenants. The leasing office and amenities can be found on the first floor.Dohn Construction President Doug Dohn explains, “Uncommon is an apt name for this project. From start to finish, it has been a rewarding challenge to work on.” He adds, “Uncommon is a lively and luxurious addition to this area. We are proud to have built it.”For this project, Dohn Construction partnered with Chicago-based property owners, CA Ventures, and Colorado architecture firm, Oz Architecture. The building is located at 302 S. College Avenue.
